Why “us” over “them”?

1. Your child deserves a real teacher and not just a tutor.

   • We only hire certified and experienced teachers to work with our students and clients. The bigger places hire “professionals in other fields” and college students who may be aspiring to be teachers.

2. Their rates are ridiculous and the money does not go where you think it should go.

   • During a recent survey of our competitors, I was told that the discount rate was $77/hour (normally $95/hour) for “one-on-one tutoring”. Right at the starting gate, we are less expensive.
   • Furthermore, since they mostly hire college students, typical hourly pay for their employees is anywhere from $12-$20/hour, with the other $57-$65 going to their company. Does it bother you that the person who you are relying on to help your child is getting little of the money that you are spending?
   • Our teachers get paid like teachers deserve to be paid and have the skills and experience that warrant it.

3. One-on-one does not mean one-on-one at their places!

   • So, you signed your child up at that place for $77/hour because you like their reputation and you have vaguely heard of us.
   • Your child shows up the first day to meet with that little-paid college student or “professional in another field” and they happen to be sitting with 2-3 other students. Your child will get one-on-one time; for approximately 15-20 minutes. In reality, since your child might get 20 minutes of true one-on-one (while the other 40 or so will be dedicated towards “practice/busy work”) that $77/hour discount rate is really $231/hour. What a bargain for 20 minutes with someone with little experience!

4. We come to you.

   • You work hard. You have a busy schedule. Your kids have a busy schedule. You deserve to know where your hard-earned money is going.

5. We do not waste your time with fluffy, costly testing.

   • Bigger chain tutoring centers give initial assessments that can range from $100-$200. In fact, sometimes, these assessments are waived. Why? Because the companies know that they are just another way to exploit you for money.
   • We set your child up with a teacher who has the skills and classroom knowledge to assess your children in their own way; a way that was successful enough to get results in their classrooms and get us to hire them.
   • Initial assessments are their way of milking you for all you are worth.
   • We have no hidden fees. Our only fees, which we have already disclosed to you, are the credit/debit transaction fees—that is it!

6. The Final Tale of the Tape

   • You can choose one of the illustrious chain tutoring centers and pay $77/hour (and $100-$200 for an initial assessment) while having your child be tutored one-on-one for maybe 20 minutes (so now it is really $231/hour) by an aspiring teacher or a professional in another field. And do not forget, you will have to pick them up and drop them off.
   • Or, you can join our team and have your child work with a certified and experienced teacher who will come to your house, while paying us anywhere from $50-$60/hour, avoiding hidden fees for useless assessments, and having the peace of mind knowing that we are here to help your child succeed—period!
   • And, do not take my word for it. You know who they are. Call them up and ask them about the things that I just alluded to. Search online. These issues are all over the Internet.
